Purity & testing

Reproducible research depends on knowing exactly what is in the vial. Analytical testing characterizes identity and purity so results are not confounded by an unknown or impure starting material.

What the tests show

  • HPLC quantifies purity by separating the main compound from related impurities.
  • Mass spectrometry confirms identity by measuring molecular weight.
  • Together they answer two questions: is this the right peptide, and how pure is it?

Why third-party testing

Independent, third-party analysis adds a layer of verification beyond a manufacturer's own claims. It reduces the chance that a labeling or production error goes unnoticed and gives researchers a neutral record to rely on.

Reading “≥99% purity”

A purity figure such as ≥99% refers to the proportion of the main peak by HPLC for that batch. Always confirm the figure on the COA for your specific lot rather than assuming a catalog-wide value.
