Storage & handling

Peptide stability depends heavily on temperature, moisture, and how often the material is warmed and cooled. A few simple habits keep research material consistent over its useful life.

Lyophilized (powder) material

  • Store sealed, desiccated, and away from light.
  • Cold storage extends shelf life; a freezer is preferable for longer-term storage of solid material.
  • Keep the vial sealed until you are ready to reconstitute to avoid moisture uptake.

Reconstituted (liquid) material

  • Refrigerate reconstituted peptide and use it within a shorter window than the solid form.
  • Aliquot into single-use portions so you only thaw what you need.
  • Minimize freeze-thaw cycles — each cycle can degrade peptide integrity.
  • Label every aliquot with the lot, concentration, and date.

General handling

Use clean technique and appropriate personal protective equipment. Treat all products as laboratory research materials and follow your institution's standard operating procedures for storage and disposal.
